The Race...... Who: High Profile Adventure Racing L.L.C. What: 2010 Thunder Rolls Adventure Race Where: BSA Camp Lowden - Oregon, Illinois When: August 28, 2010 The Course...... The 8th annual "Thunder Rolls", 12 and 24 hour adventure race courses will continue to follow the trails, waterways, and migration routes of the Sauk and Fox Indians of the early 1800's. This years course will be in the beautiful and historic Rock River Valley of northern Illinois. The area, known for its forests, deep valleys and scenic bluffs, was the home of Potawatomi and Winnebago Indian tribes. The nearby Stillman Valley in 1832 was the site of the first of the Black Hawk Wars lead by Chief Black Hawk. It is a land of water, pines, wildlife, birds, and many challenges. The expedition style, unsupported race will involve paddling, trail running/trekking, mountain biking, navigation, coasteering, pack rafting and rope work. The 50 or 100 mile course is located in state forests, state parks, Historic sites, and private lands. ________________________________________________
