High Profile Adventure Racing L.L.C. presents the
3rd
annual adventure camp in Mount Carroll, Illinois at the scenic and
historic YMCA Camp Benson. The camp will give aspiring first timers to
experienced racers the skills and knowledge needed to participate and excel
in adventure races. Instruction is primarily in the field with rappels and ascents of over 100’ high and traverses of over 300’ long on area cliffs. Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning seminars will include presentations on topics to be determined. A highlight of the camp will be a 3 hour sprint adventure race on Sunday. The cost of the camp includes two full days of instruction, Saturday night lodging at Camp Benson, a Saturday night meal, a Sunday morning breakfast, insurance, a sprint adventure race, a voucher for $25.00 off the 2009 Thunder Rolls Adventure Race and a certificate of attendance. Active Endeavors will have all the required rope gear for sale at the camp. The High Profile Adventure Camp staff are all experienced adventure racers. Each is highly skilled with backgrounds and expertise in the topics and disciplines presented. The camp is presented by Gerry Voelliger, Director of the Thunder Rolls Adventure Race and Captain of Team Orthopaedic Specialists. The camp is sanctioned by the United States Adventure Racing Association, and was one of only three camps held nationwide in 2008 and by far the least expensive!! Note: Participants
should be in good physical condition and willing to get wet, dirty, and
